I don’t typically react well to red wines that are on the more aromatic end of the spectrum, with a perfume that’s just a little too lip puckering. More or less, that’s what I was expecting from this wine.
I was spot on that the wine would certainly have a fragrant bloom about it, but it was such that you could nearly taste the ancient vines that helped bring this bottle into existence. This big red delivers a unique, superbly smooth and drinkable glass. Try some fine bread and creamy brie or goat cheese for a brilliant offset of the flavor palette.
As far as I know, you can only get this wine online through the tremendously adventurous folks at Naked Wines. The good news is, if you’re new to Naked Wines you can get a $50 credit toward your first purchase by placing your order through this link.
As a final note, when you do open this bottle, give it about ten minutes to breath and gather itself before you start serving and sipping. Enjoy!
