As you probably know by now, I’m addicted to subscription boxes. Some day soon, I’ll probably have a page dedicated to my favorites. As it pertains to wine, I’m currently a member of NakedWines and Winc and I love both of them!

But (here’s where the nerdiness comes in) I love researching, labeling, and aging the wine almost as much as drinking the next ripely aged bottle. Here’s one of four collections I have scattered about in my Brooklyn apartment.

So I have this little ritual where I unbox the wine late at night while everyone’s sleeping, crack open my laptop, and get to work. On the neck of the bottles I write the year when the wine should be opened. On the back I make notes about serving recommendations (decant, open for a period of time, etc), food pairings, and anything distinctive about the wine.

What’s a funky little thing that you look forward to way too much, and get far more pleasure out of than other people you know? Drop a comment!
